Hi, we're Claire and Alex - two bread enthusiasts whose parallel paths merged because of a shared passion for perfecting that perfect loaf of sourdough goodness. By day, Claire is a full-time consultant in Philadelphia, working 80-hour weeks that rarely leave space to breathe. But on Sundays? That first slice of fresh sourdough is her reset. A moment of calm. A reminder to slow down and take in the simple joy that baking bread has to offer.

Alex, whose love for baking was inspired from a trip to France, recognized that the ubiquitous bakeries in every little nook and cranny of Paris was one of the fabrics of society rooted in community, fellowship, and craftsmanship. This seemingly simple way of life in going to the bakery and buying fresh bread on a daily basis was something that resonated with him on a profound level. After returning stateside, his passion for baking gradually “proofed” as he experimented with new recipes and baking methodologies.

Their separate paths were on course to collide and that eventually happened in the Summer of 2023. They were acquainted at a baking exposition - two strangers trading baking tips, favorite flour types, and stories from the kitchen. As their shared love for baking developed, they recognized a dearth in the market for quality and cost effective baking tools. That's how BRILOUX was born- a baking tools brand grounded in function, design, and a whole lot of joy. We started with the essentials: banneton proofing baskets, scrapers, and whisks-everything Alex wished for in his kitchen and Claire depended on for her Sunday peace. We're still small.
